As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Foot Patrol in Detroit, MI , this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $18.45 / Hour increasing to $21.05 / Hour in annual increments

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities at a government location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting details and communicating with site contacts and/or public emergency personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, offices, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to identify unusual activity, unsecured areas, and/or conditions requiring attention.
• Monitor entrances, lobbies, and other assigned access points to help to support authorized access, observe visitor activity, and report security-related concerns in accordance with site policies.
• Support daily operations by preparing routine reports, maintaining awareness of surroundings, and following post orders related to government facility protocols and/or public-facing services.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
• Must have a State of MI CPL
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
