Job Title

Progressive Care Registered Nurse – Cardiac Stepdown

Location

Hilo, Hawaii

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Rotating Shift | 36 hours per week | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide primary nursing care for patients in a Progressive Care Unit consisting of telemetry and step-down ICU beds
• Perform continuous telemetry monitoring and telemetry strip reading
• Conduct fingerstick blood sugar monitoring and related bedside assessments
• Operate unit equipment including BIPAP and continuous cardiac monitoring systems
• Document patient care accurately using Meditech electronic charting and administer medications via Pyxis
• Float to other acute care units within the facility, including Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, and Emergency departments as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active State of Hawaii RN license required by start of assignment
• Minimum of 1 year of hospital acute care experience within the last year
• Proficiency with telemetry monitoring and strip reading
• Ability to work a rotating schedule with no guaranteed hours and no on-call requirement
• Compliance with facility dress code (scrubs required)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Progressive Care and telemetry unit experience strongly preferred
• ACLS certification preferred
• Current PALS certification preferred
• NIHSS certification preferred
