Adjunct - 3D Modeling

Job Description: The Adjunct – Art, Media, and Design position provides qualityinstruction and maintains a positive learning environment in theclassroom, with major emphasis placed on teaching, supporting andevaluating students. The Adjunct role provides instruction andmonitors teaching/learning effectiveness in courses assigned by theDepartment Chair, or other leadership members. The incumbent mustexhibit strong organizational skills and the ability to multitaskwhile engaging large groups of people with complicated material. 3DModeling Adjuncts will teach courses related to the 3D modelingpipeline using industry standard tools such as Maya, Photoshop, andUnity. They will teach students all aspects of the processincluding, but not limited to, modeling, cleanup, UV mapping,rigging, animation, and game implementation. The 3D ModelingAdjuncts will stay current with and teach industry best practicesand procedures.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Instruction & Student Learning Teaches assigned courses as scheduled. Designs curriculumembracing diversity, in all forms, to foster talent in studentswhile modeling inclusive teaching strategies, with an understandingof the socio-cultural issues of traditionally underrepresentedgroups. Considers individual differences of students in order todesign and support a range of appropriate learning activities.Participates in the identification of students with academic orother needs and responds by utilizing an appropriate resource. Usestechnology in a manner appropriate to the nature and objectives ofcourses and programs and communicates clearly to students theexpectations concerning the use of such technology. Keeps accurateand appropriate records in accordance with departmentalpolicies. Maintains attendance records, determines and submits gradestimely and in accordance with established policies and proceduresof the College, and communicates progress feedback, as well asother relevant information to students throughout the semester.Distributes and maintain accurate syllabi that incorporatesdepartmental, college, cross-college, and instructor requirements.Conducts classes punctually and in accordance with the prescribedmeeting schedule. Employs appropriate assessment techniques tomeasure students’ performance in achieving course goals andobjectives. Engages in periodic meetings with the department, LeadInstructor, and Chairperson relative to teaching duties andprofessional development. Student Engagement & Advisement Creates a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages activeand collaborative learning, student effort, academic challenge,student and faculty interaction, and support for learners. Usestechnology to assist in communication with students. Encourages asense of community among students for learning both inside andoutside the classroom. Refers students to appropriate student and academic supportservices available at the College or in the community. Other Duties & Responsibilities: Attend all department meetings and required trainings. Stays current on 3D pipeline software and best practices. Minimum Education & Experience Required: Bachelor’s degree in 3D modeling or related field orAssociate’s degree and two years of professional 3D modelingexperience. Licenses and Certifications: State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrable abilityto gain access to work site(s).
