Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Associate Principal to lead AI opportunities across our Pharma and Life Sciences clients as part of MathCo’s US AI Go-To-Market team. You will be a senior client-facing leader who takes qualified opportunities from first meeting to signed SOW, translates client priorities into compelling solutions, and brings together the right capabilities and teams to deliver them.

The ideal candidate combines pharma consulting experience, AI and analytics expertise, commercial acumen and executive presence. You will be equally comfortable engaging senior client stakeholders, shaping and reviewing AI- and analytics-led solutions, running a disciplined sales pipeline, and coordinating cross-functional teams — including MathCo’s solutioning teams in India.

This is a highly visible, growth-oriented role that requires strong in-person client presence and the ability to manage a portfolio of active opportunities at once.

What You’ll Do

Own the Life Sciences opportunity pipeline

• Lead Pharma and Life Sciences AI opportunities end to end — from qualified first meeting through solution discussions, proposal and closing to signed SOW and handoff to delivery.
• Develop trusted relationships with senior and executive client stakeholders, identifying business priorities and translating them into opportunities.
• Lead strategic business conversations and connect client challenges to relevant AI, analytics, consulting and technology solutions.
• Build and advance a healthy pipeline with strong discipline around qualification, prioritization, forecasting and conversion.
• Partner with account leaders on account plans and relationship building, and convert that demand into qualified opportunities.
• Prepare for and run client meetings independently across the deal cycle — agenda, storyline, pre-reads, delivery in the room and clear next steps.
• Run client workshops, both to surface new opportunities and to move complex deals forward.

Shape and orchestrate solutions

• Understand complex client challenges and bring together the right capabilities, subject matter experts and leaders to develop differentiated solutions.
• Connect business problems to AI- and analytics-led solutions, with a clear value proposition and a business case with quantified ROI.
• Direct and review solutions developed with MathCo’s solutioning teams — storyline, architecture fit, scope and commercials
• Work across time zones with global teams so proposals are timely and deliverable.
• Play a key role in Life Sciences RFP responses.
• Partner with our technical architects on data, context and AI-at-scale opportunities.

Lead senior client engagement

• Serve as a senior representative of MathCo in client meetings, workshops and executive discussions.
• Bring strong executive presence and the ability to consult stakeholders across complex organizational and account dynamics.
• Identify opportunities to scale successful work across brands, functions, business units and geographies.

Build for scale

• Develop a portfolio-level perspective rather than focusing on individual projects.
• Identify repeatable solutions and commercial approaches that can scale across Life Sciences clients
• Collaborate with delivery, analytics, consulting and commercial leadership

What We’re Looking For

• 7–12 years of experience in Pharma / Life Sciences consulting, analytics or a closely related growth-oriented role, including senior consulting or pre-sales leadership
• Experience at a large consulting or analytics organization, with responsibility for business development, account growth, solutioning or commercial strategy.
• A track record of driving revenue growth and developing and progressing a meaningful sales pipeline.
• Strong understanding of AI, GenAI and analytics and their application to Pharma / Life Sciences business challenges;
  experience selling or delivering AI / GenAI use cases into commercial or medical functions.
• Working fluency with Pharma commercial and medical data (e.G., IQVIA, claims, Veeva CRM), its compliance context (HIPAA, MLR review), and Pharma buying centers (commercial, medical, IT / data, procurement).
• Ability to move from a senior business conversation to shaping a commercially compelling solution.
• Excellent sales discipline: pipeline management, forecasting and reporting, qualification, stakeholder mapping and pursuit management.
• Ability to mobilize and influence cross-functional teams without relying on direct authority.
• Experience working with global solutioning or delivery teams across time zones.
• Strong executive presence and comfort with significant in-person client engagement.

Ideal Background

Strong candidates may come from several paths:

• A growth-oriented leadership role within a large Pharma / Life Sciences consulting or analytics organization.
• A senior commercial or consulting role at a comparable analytics and consulting firm.
• A senior enterprise role with responsibility for a significant portfolio, combined with strong client-facing, commercial and analytics experience.
