Procurement Specialist I/II

Vocational/Educational Requirement Procurement Specialist I: Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in purchasing, marketing, business management, or a closely related field. A master’s degree in business administration, public administration, or related field can substitute for one year of related full-time experience. Required Qualifications Vocational/Educational Requirement: Procurement Specialist I: Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in purchasing, marketing, business management, or a closely related field. A master’s degree in business administration, public administration, or related field can substitute for one year of related full-time experience. Procurement Specialist II: Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in purchasing, marketing, business management, or a closely related field. Experience Procurement Specialist I: In addition to satisfying the vocational/education standards, this job class requires a minimum of one year of directly related, full-time equivalent experience or a minimum of three years of full-time experience in a position that requires the following professional skills: coordination of people, programs, tasks and/or money; written and verbal communication; customer service; attention to detail; and working in a team environment. Procurement Specialist II: In addition to satisfying the vocational/education standards, this class requires a minimum of two years of related, full-time equivalent experience in formal complex solicitations such as Request for Proposals and Invitation for Bids. Special Certifications and Licenses Special Certifications and Licenses: Requires a valid driver’s license and driving record in compliance with City Driving Standards. Procurement Specialist II: Governmental procurement certifications VCA , PPA , or other equivalent are desired. Requires a valid driver’s license and driving record in compliance with City Driving Standards. Special Requirements Special Requirements: Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies. Emergency operations support work and work locations may be outside of normal job duties.
