Terms of Employment: Teacher Work Year (181 Attendance Days) Immediate Supervisor: Building Principal and Director of Student Services Salary: Starting $52,500 (Per EPET 2024 - 2028 Contract)

Summary: To support the development of fine motor, sensorimotor, daily living and functional skills within the school setting to meet the needs of students.

Certification/License Illinois OT Licensure Master's Degree

Job Responsibilities

Provides direct and consultative occupational therapy services to students including assessment, goals, treatment plans, program planning and implementation, documentation, and communication. Conducts assessments for evaluation and IEP meetings. Completes written reports for IEP meetings. Provides training and in-services to staff on occupational therapy-related topics as needed. Works collaboratively with teams to provide comprehensive occupational therapy services to students. Serves as a member of a student's IEP team. Creates sensory diets and plans for students. Knows how to use student equipment in an appropriate and safe manner. Knowledge and skills in various methods of assessment to support eligibility decision making, intervention plan development, and progress monitoring of students' motor skills and functional abilities (e.g. perceptual-motor, hand functions, motor coordination, sensory development, muscle strength, etc.). Knowledge and skills in various methods of data collection to support program review and goal setting. Consultation and collaboration skills to be a supportive resource on a variety of topics including interventions within and outside of the classroom setting, assistive devices/technology, curriculum access, physical access to learning environments, and activities of daily living. Communication with students, parents, teachers, other personnel, and outside agencies for the purpose of evaluating situations, solving problems and/or resolving conflicts, and developing plans for service. Experience providing individual, small group, and classroom interventions. Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices and child development. Knowledge of the transition process from Early Intervention. Adheres to applicable principles and practices of occupational therapy, District policies and procedures and state regulations. Additional duties as assigned. Equipment Uses standard office equipment such as personal computers, printer, copy and fax machines, and telephone. Travel Requirements Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required. Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards Ability to lift up to 40 pounds, including students.
