Machine Operator / Laser Operator
Location: NE Portland – Airport Way area
Pay: $21–$26/hour DOE
Schedule: Monday–Friday, Day Shift
- 5:00 AM–2:00 PM
- 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
We are currently hiring a Machine Operator / Laser Operator to join our team in NE Portland! We are open to entry-level candidates for the Laser Operator position and will provide training to the right person.
The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working on their feet in a production environment.
What You'll Do
- Operate presses and/or laser equipment to complete production jobs.
- Set up equipment to run production jobs.
- Read, understand, and follow production work orders.
- Prioritize production orders based on due dates.
- Produce quality products while maintaining efficient equipment operation.
- Maintain equipment and identify appropriate raw materials and tooling.
- Accurately report daily production numbers.
- Perform quality checks on finished products.
- Troubleshoot production issues and assist with identifying root causes.
- Check equipment for proper calibration and notify supervisors of any issues.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area, including sweeping floors and emptying trash as needed.
Laser Operator
Entry-level candidates are welcome!
Experience with fiber lasers is preferred, but we are willing to train candidates who demonstrate mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn.
Our lasers are Bystronic , so experience operating Bystronic or other fiber laser equipment is a plus.
What We're Looking For
- Machining, machine operation, manufacturing, or related experience preferred.
- Laser or press operation experience is a plus.
- Mechanically inclined with the ability to troubleshoot equipment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Good basic math and measurement skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability and willingness to learn and train.
- Dependable and reliable.
- Ability to follow work instructions and production schedules.
- Composite-toe or steel-toe shoes are required.
