Dental Hygienist – Onsite | Boston, MA (6-Month Contract)Sigma Systems is seeking a licensed Dental Hygienist to work onsite at the Henry M. Client School of Dental Medicine in Boston, MA. This short-term contract role supports preventive, clinical, and educational oral healthcare services in an academic dental setting.The ideal candidate is patient-focused, detail-oriented, and experienced in providing high-quality dental hygiene care while adhering to OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control standards.Key ResponsibilitiesServe as a Dental Hygienist providing preventive oral healthcare servicesDeliver patient education on oral hygiene, home care, and treatment plansPerform clinical dental hygiene services, including:Dental cleaningsScaling and root planing (with local anesthesia)Fluoride treatments and therapeutic agentsExposing and processing dental radiographsConduct oral cancer screenings, periodontal assessments, and chartingReview and update patient medical histories; identify contraindications and request medical clearance when neededSet up and break down operatories and treatment bays before and after patient visitsInspect, sterilize, and disinfect dental instruments and operatoriesFollow OSHA standards, universal precautions, and bloodborne pathogen protocolsMaintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentialitySupport infection control and sterilization workflowsRequired QualificationsVocational, Technical, or Associate Degree in Dental Hygiene1–3 years of relevant Dental Hygienist experienceActive Massachusetts Dental Hygienist licenseAbility to maintain current licensure and certification throughout the assignmentImmunization & Health Clearance RequirementsCandidates must provide proof of immunity or documentation for the following:MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): Vaccine #1 & #2 dates or titersHepatitis B: Vaccine #1, #2, and #3 dates and Hepatitis B Surface Antibody titer indicating immunity, or signed declination or lab results indicating disease historyVaricella (Chickenpox): Vaccine #1 & #2 dates, provider documentation of disease, or titerTdap (Adacel): Given since 2005Tuberculosis (TB) Test: Annual TB skin test (TST) Documentation must include date administered, date read, and millimeter (mm) indurationRequired Skills & CompetenciesStrong knowledge of preventive dentistry and oral health educationProficiency in scaling, root planing, and periodontal chartingExperience with radiographs and dental instrumentsExcellent patient communication and education skillsStrict adherence to OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control standardsAbility to work efficiently in a clinical and academic environment
