Shipping and Receiving Specialist

Duties

Receive incoming shipments by inspecting, verifying quantities, and recording details using RF scanners and warehouse management systems (WMS)

Prepare outgoing shipments by picking, packing, and labeling orders accurately for delivery or transfer

Operate forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely to load and unload trucks, stock shelves, and organize inventory

Utilize warehouse management systems such as AS400 or MRP software to track inventory levels, update stock records, and facilitate order fulfillment processes

Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile discrepancies to maintain accurate inventory records

Ensure proper packaging standards are followed to prevent damage during transit while optimizing space utilization for shipping efficiency

Support order picking and packing activities using RF scanners and order picker equipment to meet delivery deadlines promptly

Skills

Proven experience in warehouse operations including shipping & receiving, stocking, order fulfillment, and inventory management

Skilled in operating forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, and RF scanners with proper certification where applicable

Familiarity with warehouse distribution processes within e-commerce environments is highly desirable

Strong basic math skills for counting, measuring, and verifying shipment quantities accurately

Ability to efficiently load & unload trucks while adhering to safety protocols

Knowledge of warehouse management systems such as AS400 or similar platforms like MRP for tracking inventory movements

Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy in order picking & packing tasks
