Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Step into an impactful contract opportunity guiding students in grades 3–8 as a Special Education Teacher for the 2024–2025 school year, with a schedule beginning in early August and concluding in late May. Work in a supportive environment focused on nurturing diverse learners’ growth and success.

You will serve one school, collaborating with a dedicated staff to empower students across a range of abilities. Depending on your commitment level, part-time roles are inclusion-based, supporting students with low incidence needs such as SLD, autism, or OHI, while full-time positions focus on extended resource support encompassing a broader spectrum of disabilities.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Tennessee teaching certification is required (Part-time: 144 or 145; Full-time: Comprehensive license 461).
• Passion for working with students with special needs, across mild to more complex profiles.
• Open to new graduates with relevant certification who have a strong desire to make a difference.
• Flexibility, patience, and creativity in modifying lessons and adapting to individual learning styles.
• Ability to work on-site (no virtual/hybrid arrangement available).

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver specialized instruction for students with disabilities in grades 3–8.
• Foster an inclusive, positive, and engaging classroom environment.
• Collaborate closely with general educators, support staff, and families to maximize student potential.
• Maintain accurate records and support the IEP process.
• Provide support and encouragement, celebrating each milestone.
