Outpatient Physical Therapist Assistant

This is a 13-week contract position with an option to extend.

Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.

The Outpatient Physical Therapist Assistant will assist in implementing treatment goals, plans, and programs established by the Physical Therapist, with a focus on providing superior patient care in an outpatient orthopedic setting. The role emphasizes safety and quality in all aspects of patient interactions and treatment processes.

Responsibilities:

• Implement treatment goals and plans as established by the Physical Therapist.
• Assist in carrying out therapeutic interventions, including posture training, strengthening exercises, endurance training, and pain relief techniques.
• Train patients in locomotion using assistive devices and ensure proper safety measures are taken.
• Monitor patients' responses to treatment and document progress accordingly.
• Consult with other healthcare disciplines regarding therapy administered and projected treatment goals.
• Maintain a clean and safe treatment area, adhering to safety, infection control, and operational guidelines.
• Provide patient and family education on good body mechanics and treatment plans.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Degree in Physical Therapy from an Accredited School.
• CAPTE Certification.
• 1+ year of outpatient clinical experience preferred.
• CPR Certification.
• Active/applicable state license required.
