Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team in a dynamic and busy Patient Service Center (PSC) environment. This role involves performing blood draws, processing samples, and providing excellent customer service. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with one of the largest diagnostic lab companies in the country.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient check-in and intake processes.

• Perform 20-40 blood draws per day using straight and butterfly needles.

• Accurately enter data and process samples, including labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing specimens as required.

• Ensure specimens are collected and stored according to established procedures.

• Maintain and update patient information in the system.

• Record maintenance data and perform decontamination tasks.

Essential Skills

• 1+ year of phlebotomy experience (2+ years preferred).

• Proficiency in using straight needles.

• Strong data entry and computer skills.

• Excellent customer service skills.

• High School Diploma or GED.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with butterfly needles is advantageous.

• Must be able to work every Saturday.

Work Environment

This role is based in onsite patient service centers within Manhattan, with site locations to be determined. The environment is busy, with approximately 110 patients seen per day, 80% of whom are adults. The work schedule offers flexibility with a 4-day work week, including mandatory Saturday shifts. Candidates can choose from several schedule options, working approximately 31.5 hours per week, with opportunities for additional hours. The role does not require night shifts. There are 2-3 phlebotomists per site, and three openings are available.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bronx, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00/hr.
