Job Description Pride Health is hiring a Histology Supervisor to support our client’s medical facility based in Nyack, NY 10960. This is a 24‑month assignment with the possibility of a contract‑to‑hire opportunity and a great way to start working with a top‑tier healthcare organization. Job Title: Histology Supervisor Location: Nyack, NY 10960 Duration: 24 months or longer Schedule: Day/EST – 8 am to 4:30 pm Pay Range: $55–$60 per hour (rate based on experience and qualifications) Duties and Responsibilities Plan, assign, and direct laboratory work, serving as a liaison with other departments. Mentor and support direct reports, implement training programs to enhance supervisory skills. Define, coordinate, and monitor quality assurance programs in collaboration with the Regional QA Manager; ensure compliance with quality control procedures and oversee preparations for inspections (CAP, NYS, OSHA). Manage laboratory staffing: interview, hire, train, and conduct performance evaluations; ensure proper coverage and identify staff development needs. Oversee department activities, prioritize tasks, and manage scheduling; collaborate with the Lab Director on future needs related to staff, equipment, and facilities. Perform advanced and specialized tests, assist in gross examination of specimens, and support pathologists as needed; review test performance and drive process improvements. Maintain the test database, ensuring accurate reflection of departmental procedures and regulatory changes. Partner with the Lab Director to manage departmental costs, adhere to budgetary constraints, and provide input for annual budgeting. Define and monitor EHS programs; ensure safety procedures are followed and maintain laboratory equipment and areas in a safe, functional condition. Resolve problems through client communication and handle confidential client information with discretion. Job Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of full‑time supervisory experience in a clinical setting. New York State Clinical Laboratory License required. ASCP Certification and a Master’s Degree in a related field preferred. Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or related field required; Master’s Degree preferred. Ability to lift and carry objects up to 25 pounds occasionally; sit or stand for long periods; use laboratory instruments requiring manual dexterity. Comprehensive knowledge in a designated specialty; proven leadership and problem‑solving skills; strong attention to detail; proficiency in Microsoft Office and Laboratory Information Systems; strong interpersonal communication skills.
