Network Voice Engineer

DescriptionSAIC is seeking a Network Voice Engineer. This is a hybrid remote role and the ideal candidate will be located near Stafford, VA or North Charleston, SC.Job Duties/Responsibilities: (include, but are not limited to)Responsible for the design, analysis, planning, modification, and maintenance of networks and network components supporting data, voice, and/or communication activitiesPrepare the analysis of short/long term capacity needs for switching, routing transmission, and signalingConduct Verification Site Surveys (VSS)Conduct QA/QC inspectionsConduct network architecture design, feasibility, and cost studies as well as internal studies of network performance and traffic analysisProvide specifications and detailed schematics for network architectureProvide tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements Reviewing Engineering Artifacts for Technical EvaluationsCompiling and processing Engineering Change Proposals (ECP)Responsible for testing of new and existing network systemsQualificationsRequired Education and Experience:Bachelors and nine (9) years or more of related experience.Able to design, document, deploy and configure Cisco Unified Border Element Session Border Controllers (SBC) to support the transition from Primary Rate Interface (PRI) to Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) trunksExperience developing voice solution designs and engineering enterprise voice systems including extensive experience with Avaya and Cisco call management tools and technologies Experience with Layer 1-2 NetworkingExperience with EOL/EOS Analysis and completion of BOM submissionsFamiliar with PON NetworkingTechnical understanding of Wireless NetworkingExperience in network services, Cisco AS or high-level support, or large-scale Network Design experienceUnderstanding of Voice Architecture (CUCM, Voice Gateways, and VoIP)Understanding of Telecommunication Facilities and supporting internal Auxiliary InfrastructureDevelopment, planning, and execution of test, validation, and cutover methodologiesDesired Skills/Experience:Cisco and Avaya Voice and Network professional level certifications are preferredExperience with Unified CommunicationsExperience in Wireless and MPLS Familiar with Remedy (WO and CRQ process) Experience supporting Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC), the United States Marine Corps (USMC), the United States Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC), or other Government Agency supporting Network ModernizationJob Field: Information TechnologyTravel: Yes, 25 % of the Time
