Description:

Chesapeake is located in a beautiful area of Coastal Virginia. It offers trails for all levels of hikers and over 20 waterways to explore. The unit has a patient ratio of 1:7. Candidates must be aware of this before submission. Expected work schedule includes weekdays, every other weekend, float, and holidays as needed. Certifications required include BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS. Candidates must have experience in telemetry interpretation and must have worked with neurology/stroke patients. A compact or valid nursing license must be held at the time of application. The selected candidate will not have any prior license or background hits. Fit testing requirements will apply, and any issues may disqualify a candidate. Candidates will be subject to a mandatory EKG testing; a passing score is required to continue with employment. Modules are mandatory and must be completed prior to starting the position. The daily census on the unit is approximately 28 patients. Support services available include IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. Candidates should be prepared to provide care for adult and geriatric patients.
