Safety Specialist - Occupancy & Building Safety

Martek has been awarded several long-term Federal contracts to provide a wide range of real estate talent. Our team is seeking a Safety Specialist - Occupancy & Building Safety to join our team supporting the Department of Energy (DoE) with the required education and experience outlined below.

Part-Time, 20 Hours per Week Site Address: 1000 Independence Ave SW, Washington, DC 20024

Responsibilities & Duties

• Conduct building safety assessments covering ergonomics, emergency exits, signage, air quality, and occupancy readiness.
• Verify compliance with OSHA standards and DOE safety policies.
• Develop and implement occupancy safety plans, including emergency evacuation procedures.
• Support hazard identification and mitigation during move activities.
• Coordinate safety training and onboarding for personnel entering the new facility.
• Perform walkthroughs pre- and post-move to validate safe working conditions.

Job Qualifications:

Educational Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, or related field OR equivalent combination of education and experience
• Certifications such as CSP, ASP, or OHST preferred

Experience Requirements

Must have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. Martek Global Services, Inc.
