Details Medical Surgical unit setting Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM 6 weekend shifts required per 6 week schedule (Saturday and Sunday count as weekend shifts) On-call requirement of one shift per 6 week schedule Patient ratio of 1:5 Allscripts charting system experience preferred Requirements Active TX or compact RN license required BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg experience required Previous travel experience required Community hospital experience preferred Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, central line and PICC line management, blood product administration, and peripheral line care Respiratory care skills required including BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube management, HFNC, and oxygen administration Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE required Experience with cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and rapid response/code team protocols required Experience managing bowel obstruction, colostomy/ileostomy, and feeding tubes required Experience administering Heparin, Insulin, and PCA medications required Additional Information Provide direct patient care within a Med/Surg unit including ortho trauma, total joint replacement, and short stay patients Facility conducts its own onsite drug screen upon arrival, including marijuana testing, with automatic cancellation for positive results Candidates should avoid CBD products prior to arrival to prevent a positive drug screen result Clinicians must complete required lab work within 72 hours of accepting an offer or have a completion plan in place Candidates within 150 miles of the facility may be considered local for RN/LVN positions May consider candidates at least 50 miles from the facility on a case-by-case basis Previous permanent staff must have separated from employment for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler American Traveler Job ID P-750568.
