Description

Warms up and performs QA tests on simulator, CT, BAT and treatment equipment following established procedures prior to daily use. Reports any deviation to the physicist. Uses radiation detection equipment in a safe and careful manner. Inspects ancillary devices prior to use. Reports any problems to appropriate person. Verifies functioning of the radiation detectors. Checks blocks for proper orientation and accuracy before filming. Performs weekly QA on simulator and treatment equipment following established procedures. Assists in maintenance of the dark room. Report any problems to the appropriate person for corrections. Maintains accurate records of all equipment service/function/maintenance etc. Performs microdosimetry within the first three treatments. Verifies calculation and agreement prior to fourth treatment. Participates in department performance improvement program. Maintains high level of patient care and safety at all times.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an AMA accredited school of Radiation Therapy is required. Knowledge of principles, techniques and methodology of radiation therapy is required. Behavior and personality conducive to working with cancer patients is necessary.

Licensure

Current State of Florida License as a Certified Radiology Technologist (CRT) ARRT (T) or eligible Current BLS Certification Required
