The VISN Chief Surgical Consultant (VCSC) is the medical official for VISN 20 Surgical Programs Oversight and is responsible for the quality of care and utilization of health care resources. The incumbent functions in an administrative role and accordingly, must have strong managerial and organizational skills as well as extensive clinical knowledge. This is a detail not to exceed 120 days, may be extended based on service line needs and mutual agreement.
