Snowflake Platform Administrator

The Snowflake Platform Administrator will oversee the administration, security, and optimization of the enterprise Snowflake environment. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring the platform is secure, scalable, and operating efficiently while supporting data initiatives across the business. Key Responsibilities Manage and maintain the Snowflake platform, ensuring high availability, security, and performance. Design and administer role-based access control (RBAC), including user provisioning, role hierarchy management, and permissions. Create and maintain databases, schemas, tables, and other Snowflake objects. Provision, monitor, and optimize virtual warehouses to balance performance and cost efficiency. Configure and manage secure data sharing across internal teams and external partners. Monitor platform health, usage, and resource consumption, proactively identifying opportunities for optimization. Troubleshoot platform issues and implement best practices for administration, governance, and security. Qualifications Proven experience administering Snowflake in a production environment. Strong knowledge of Snowflake security, access controls, roles, and privilege management. Hands-on experience managing databases, schemas, virtual warehouses, and secure data sharing. Strong SQL skills with experience using Snowflake system views and metadata for monitoring and administration. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to support a fast-paced, data-driven environment.
