We issue air, water, and solid and hazardous waste permits that restrict discharges to environmentally safe levels. Staff members inspect and monitor regulated entities; provide compliance and technical assistance; monitor and assess air, land, and water quality; use enforcement actions as necessary to ensure compliance; and respond to incidents involving spills to soil or waters of the state. Role Overview This position is an entry level Environmental Manager/ELTF Claims Reviewer position in the UST (Underground Storage Tank) Operations Section of the Office of Land Quality. The Environmental Manager performs review of documents submitted to the agency for reimbursement from the ELTF (Excess Liability Trust Fund). Essential Functions Approves or denies costs submitted for reimbursement by complying with requirements set forth in the Rule and/or IDEM guidelines Accurately communicates reviews through written communication for review by Senior Environmental Managers and management team Collaborates with other claim reviewers Functions as a team member to meet the claim review goals of the section Performs related duties as assigned Salary Statement The salary for this position traditionally starts at $53,222.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.
