Commercial Kitchen Equipment Service Technician - Construction

Role And Responsibilities The Technician troubleshoots and repairs restaurant equipment, performs regular maintenance, maintains repair logs, installs new equipment, and provides excellent customer service to restaurant professionals. Responsibilities Install new commercial kitchen equipment, including dishwashers, conveyors, ovens, stoves, kettles, fryers, steamers, and ice machines. Diagnose commercial cooking equipment performance through observation, testing, and setup. Disassemble and re‑assemble equipment to perform troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repair. Operate hand tools, power tools, gauges, and measuring equipment to perform unit service. Lift, carry, pull, and push components and/or equipment for testing, setup, or maintenance. Provide written and verbal instructions and complete documentation to verify work performed. Work flexible hours as required. Qualifications And Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Burn and fire watch certificates a plus. Knowledge and experience with plumbing, electrical, and copper work pertaining to new installations. Diagnostic ability demonstrated through a minimum of 2 years’ experience and/or training in commercial cooking equipment such as fryers and grills. Proficiency using a variety of meters, measuring instruments, torches, and hand tools. Effective communication skills with customers. Ability to work independently, under pressure, and without close supervision, and to consistently meet job‑required schedules. Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force (pulling, pushing, lifting, carrying) regularly and up to 50 pounds frequently. Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, twist, and grasp to perform essential job functions. Ability to tolerate environmental conditions including extreme heat, cold, noise, vibration, fumes, dust, and poor ventilation. Hourly pay range $28 - $35.
