Quanex is looking for a Materials Compliance Analyst in Sioux Falls, SD.
As the Materials Compliance Specialist for Quanex’s North American operations, this position will play a key role in supporting the on-going and maintenance of the proprietary Assent Compliance platform for materials declarations. This position ensures that Quanex meets product and ethical sourcing requirements in its sustainability strategy and compliance with regulations such as REACH, RoHS, Conflict Minerals, Prop 65, TSCA and PFAS. Working closely with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders, this role will use tools in the Assent Compliance platform to support sustainability initiatives, validate regulatory compliance and drive continual improvement in the supply chain.

What’s attractive about the Materials Compliance Analyst position?
- Lead cross-functional materials compliance efforts to ensure adherence to global regulatory requirements and sustainability objectives.
- Own supplier compliance data management, including documentation collection, validation, and maintenance within the Assent platform.
- Enhance compliance performance through issue resolution, process improvement, reporting, metrics development, and stakeholder training.
What Success Looks Like:
- Compliance data is accurate, complete, and up to date within the Assent platform.
- Required supplier documentation is collected, validated, and maintained.
- Supplier compliance gaps are identified and addressed through effective communication and follow-up.
- Compliance assessments and audits are completed accurately, with risks identified and corrective actions addressed.
- Reports, metrics, and scorecards provide stakeholders with clear visibility into compliance progress and gaps.
- Internal teams receive the training and support needed to understand materials compliance requirements and Assent tools.
- Products and materials that exceed regulatory requirements are identified and prioritized for review.
- Strong relationships are maintained with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
- Compliance processes continue to become more efficient and reliable.
- The analyst demonstrates strong organization, attention to detail, communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
What You Bring:
- Relevant degree (e.g. engineering, environmental science, materials science, materials engineering, sustainability or related field) preferred.
- Some experience working in a data management, supplier or materials database role, ideally in a building products company, manufacturing, construction, or other commercial organization is preferred.
- Familiarity with supplier compliance tools, databases or similar regulatory compliance software to Assent Compliance, preferred but not essential as training will be provided.
- Knowledge of relevant compliance standards/regulations (e.g. REACH, RoHS, Conflict Minerals, Prop 65, TSCA, PFAS etc.) and state requirements (e.g. MN, ME and NM), desirable.
- Excellent computer skills, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical and data management skills, with a high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good project management skills, with the ability to take ownership of deliverables of multiple tasks and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Strong ability to build and manage relationships with colleagues across the business, suppliers and other external stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical information to a diverse audience.
- A strong self-starter, who is well organized with the ability to prioritize tasks and bring fresh thinking to make things happen and solve problems.
The salary range for this position is $60K - $74K with the potential to earn an annual bonus.
