Commercial Roofing Operations Manager

Location: New Haven, CT Compensation: $130,000–$150,000 Base Salary + Performance Bonuses

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Roofing Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day production and service operations for a growing commercial roofing organization in the New Haven, Connecticut market.

This leadership position will be responsible for managing field operations, developing and mentoring operational teams, improving processes, maintaining project quality and profitability, and ensuring customers receive an exceptional level of service. The ideal candidate will bring extensive commercial roofing experience, strong operational leadership skills, and a proven ability to successfully manage multiple projects and teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage commercial roofing Production and Service operations.
• Provide coaching, direction, and accountability to project managers, superintendents, service leadership, and field teams.
• Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and according to company quality standards.
• Monitor project performance, labor utilization, scheduling, job costs, and overall operational profitability.
• Review project financials, estimates, scopes of work, and operational performance.
• Partner with Sales and Estimating to ensure successful project handoffs and operational execution.
• Provide technical and operational input on complex roofing projects prior to bid when needed.
• Develop and improve operational procedures, systems, and standard operating processes.
• Establish quality-control procedures and ensure field workmanship meets company and customer expectations.
• Resolve escalated project and customer concerns in a professional and timely manner.
• Maintain strong communication between operations, sales, estimating, senior leadership, and customers.
• Build a high-performing, accountable operational culture focused on safety, quality, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
• Support company growth initiatives and ensure operational infrastructure can support continued expansion.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing development for direct reports.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements and company safety policies across all projects.
• Maintain or obtain applicable state licensing qualifications when required.
• Additional leadership and operational responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

• 8-10+ years of commercial roofing experience, with significant experience overseeing projects and field operations.
• 5+ years of operations or management experience leading commercial roofing teams.
• Strong knowledge of commercial roofing systems including TPO, PVC, EPDM, modified bitumen, BUR, coatings, and related low-slope systems.
• Proven ability to manage production, service, project schedules, labor, subcontractors, and operational performance.
• Strong understanding of project financials, estimating, job costing, margins, and profitability.
• Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and hold operational teams accountable.
• Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction/project management systems.
  

Working Conditions

• Combination of office, field, and jobsite responsibilities.
• Ability to regularly visit active commercial roofing projects and access rooftops by ladder when necessary.
• Must be comfortable working around varying weather and jobsite conditions.
• Local and occasional regional/national travel may be required.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced commercial construction environment.
  

Compensation

Base Salary: $130,000–$150,000 Additional Compensation: Performance-based bonus opportunities
