Senior Project EngineerFayetteville, NCFull-TimeA food industry company is hiring a Senior Project Engineer to join its Engineering team. This role uses data analysis to design implementation plans that optimize production processes, maximize efficiency, eliminate waste, and reduce operating costs, leading a small team on medium- to large-scale projects or owning a critical portion of a larger initiative.ScheduleFull-time. Travel up to 50 percent to other locations.Compensation$100,000 to $130,000 per year, plus bonus.What You'll DoThis engineer develops engineering designs, material specifications, and project cost estimates, and conducts feasibility studies and research to support design choices. The role ensures designs meet required standards and codes, validates field work, and creates as-built drawings, and reviews engineering submissions for accuracy and compliance. This position coordinates project activities with vendors, contractors, and plant teams to stay on schedule, collaborates with management and engineering teams to implement plans, and directs vendors and contractors on layout planning and utility requirements. The engineer reviews consultant work and suggests changes as needed, and maintains documentation, including manuals, drawings, specifications, and vendor contacts. This role conducts planning and operational reviews during pre-project phases, defines project scope, prepares proposals, and evaluates bids, and submits regular status reports to management. The engineer assists with contract administration, prepares project documents, monitors installations to ensure they meet specifications, budgets, and timelines, and manages project budgets to ensure financial targets are met.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Management, or a related field, plus 5+ years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experienceAbility to apply sound engineering principles to operational and design issuesKnowledge of installation and construction project schedulingProject management, contract administration, and national codes and standards interpretation skillsProficiency in engineering economicsProficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office SuiteExcellent written and oral communication, organizational planning, teamwork, analytical reasoning, and adaptabilityAbility to travel up to 50 percent of the timePreferred QualificationsKnowledge of engineering principles and techniques related to food processing and the meat industryPrevious experience managing multi-million-dollar projects with large scopesCompensation and Benefits$100,000 to $130,000 per year, plus bonusStandard benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401k, PTO)To apply, submit your resume for consideration.
