Postdoctoral Research Scientist
The Department of Radiology at Columbia University Medical Center is seeking a highly motivated individual to join their active MRI research program. Working closely with the Primary Principal Investigator and the Vice Chair for Research, the individual will be responsible for coordinating clinical research associated with MR imaging.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team and help facilitate cutting-edge research. Our ideal candidate has excellent organizational and communication skills and the ability to work independently to ensure successful enrollment, data collection, and adherence to the approved study protocol. Research analysis and Statistics background would be beneficial. Funding is available for a two year commitment.
Our research team is located in a newly renovated office space at Columbia University Irving Medical Center in Washington Heights.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Collaborates with investigators and the research team on the development of new research projects, databases and protocols or new department/service initiatives.
- Assists faculty within the Department of Radiology with the preparation of institutional review board (IRB) forms, case report forms (CRF) and maintenance of study documentation.
- Works closely with investigators to coordinate clinical trials associated with MRI imaging.
- Maintains and organizes study documentation and records.
- Compiles data and assists in consolidating/analyzing data for presentation.
- Ensures that all research billing requirements are met per protocol and respond to all related correspondence in a timely manner.
- Serves as the contact person for MRI research projects within radiology. This includes proactively addressing any potential issues, facilitating database enhancements, and overseeing/managing special requests.
- Scheduling research MRI scans. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- MD, PhD, DSc or equivalent training and experience plus two (2) years of related experience, and/or previous clinical research experience required.
- The ability to take initiative and work independently is required.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are a must.
- Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel is needed.
