Database Engineer

Our client, a global financial services technology firm with offices in New York City and Austin, TX, is looking to add a Database Engineer to its data engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on database professional to drive project delivery, monitor production environments, and resolve technical issues within a fast‑paced, data‑driven organization. The annual base salary range is $120,000 to $160,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer. Job Responsibilities Contribute to project-focused initiatives supporting data platform enhancements, development, and process optimization Monitor the health and performance of database systems, ensuring stability and high availability Respond to operational tickets and support issue triage, performing root cause analysis and troubleshooting as needed Develop and maintain scripts and automation for system management, data movement, and platform integration Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand current database architecture and support evolving business needs Participate in knowledge sharing and continuous improvement initiatives within the technology group Job Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field required 3–5 years of hands‑on experience as a database engineer or in a closely related role Strong experience with Vertica (required) and familiarity with other columnar databases such as ClickHouse Proficiency in Python, SQL, PowerShell, and shell scripting #J-18808-Ljbffr Atlas Search
