CNC Machinist (5-Axis)

**Job Title: 5-Axis CNC Machinist**

As a 5-Axis CNC Machinist, you will collaborate closely with our engineering and manufacturing teams to optimize a high-volume, vertically integrated machining operation. 

Your primary responsibilities will involve operating state-of-the-art multi-axis machines, specifically DMG Mori and Haas models, to produce intricate components fo the 3D printing facilities and to post-process metal 3D printed parts for our clientele.

**3D Printing Experience:** While direct experience in 3D printing is not mandatory for success in this position, we prioritize candidates who are intelligent, driven, collaborative, and eager to tackle complex challenges in the technological landscape.

**Key Responsibilities:**

- Set up, run, and operate CNC programs on DMG Mori and Haas machines for the fabrication of complex parts. - Execute machining operations based on blueprints, drawings, and schematics, adhering to stringent tolerances. - Conduct on-machine deburring as well as manual deburring processes as needed.

- Inspect machined parts using on-machine probing techniques and manual measurement tools, including micrometers, thread gauges, and indicators.

- Perform routine preventative maintenance on machines and manage cutting fluid systems.

- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and actively contribute to optimizing operational processes within the shop.

**Basic Qualifications:** - Minimum of 5 years of experience in the setup and operation of CNC machines.

- Proficiency in machining materials such as aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, or Inconel.

- Extensive experience with 5-axis machining on DMG Mori machines.

- Competence in interpreting blueprints, part drawings, and schematics.

**Preferred Skills and Experience:**

- Familiarity with Siemens control systems.

- Background in CNC programming.

- Experience with machining metal 3D printed components.

- Skills in designing, setting up, and managing complex fixtures for high-tolerance precision machining.

- NTMA machinist certification.

- Proficient in using precision measuring instruments.

- Capability to operate power tools, hand tools, cranes, forklifts, and other heavy equipment.

- Ability to lift/move up to 30 lbs unassisted and to stand or climb ladders for extended periods.

- Availability and willingness to work overtime as required.
