Why This Role Stands Out Practice full-scope ophthalmology from diagnostics to advanced surgery Work in a collaborative, mission-driven environment Experience the unique culture and natural beauty of Interior Alaska No required on-call schedule Make a direct impact in underserved communities What You ll Do As Our Ophthalmologist, You Will Perform comprehensive eye exams and diagnose ocular conditions Deliver preventative, therapeutic, and surgical care Conduct procedures including: Cataract and glaucoma surgeries Refractive and corneal procedures Vitreo-retinal and oculoplastic surgeries Laser treatments Provide post-operative care and patient education Collaborate with Optometry and multidisciplinary teams Lead outreach village field clinics and support community care initiatives Contribute to quality improvement, reporting, and clinical excellence Where You ll Work Chief Andrew Isaac Health Center (CAIHC) TCC Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) Occasional travel to rural village clinics What You Bring MD or DO from an accredited program Completion of Ophthalmology residency Board Certified or Board Eligible (ABO) Eligible for Alaska medical licensure Strong clinical, surgical, and decision-making skills Passion for culturally responsive, patient-centered care Bonus Points 2+ years of experience (new grads welcome) Leadership interest (Section Lead opportunity available) Commitment to teamwork, compassion, and community service Our Mission & Culture At TCC, we follow the Ch eghwtsen model of care delivering service with respect, trust, compassion, and empathy.
