Plant Manager - isotope production

An innovative advanced technology company operating within the nuclear and medical isotope sector is seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead day-to-day operations at a highly regulated production facility. This is a senior leadership position responsible for driving safe, compliant, and efficient plant operations across production, maintenance, quality, logistics, and operational performance. The successful individual will play a critical role in scaling production capability, improving operational efficiency, and maintaining world-class nuclear safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities Lead all aspects of facility operations, ensuring production activities are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within quality and cost targets. Oversee plant performance metrics including production yield, equipment uptime, cycle times, and operational efficiency. Manage daily activities across production, maintenance, and quality teams to ensure operational continuity and adherence to approved procedures. Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, reliability, productivity, and cost optimisation. Maintain compliance with NRC regulations, nuclear safety requirements, and environmental standards. Act as a key point of contact during regulatory inspections, audits, and licensing activities. Own corrective action and operational improvement programs, including root cause analysis and resolution of deviations. Oversee supply chain, inventory, logistics, and material management activities supporting facility operations. Lead, mentor, and develop operational teams while fostering a strong culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement. Partner closely with engineering, quality, regulatory, and commercial teams to support production and customer delivery objectives. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline. 10+ years of operations leadership experience within a highly regulated industrial, nuclear, radiological, chemical, pharmaceutical, or advanced manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of nuclear safety culture, regulatory compliance, quality systems, and operational excellence principles. Experience managing budgets, production schedules, maintenance programs, and cross-functional operational teams. Demonstrated success operating within safety-critical environments with direct accountability for production, quality, compliance, and performance outcomes. Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to interface effectively with executive leadership, regulators, and technical teams.
