RN Staff Nurse II - Pediatrics Ambulatory Care

* Performs and documents assessment of the patient/family (biophysical, psychosocial, developmental, cultural, spiritual and environmental); collects and analyzes data from the medical record in order to coordinate patient care.* Directs and/or provides patient care, which may include administering medication, performing procedures and monitoring patient status in accordance with approved nursing practice.* Provides appropriate counsel and education to patients/family regarding disease process and symptom management.* Maintains medical records requiring appropriate and timely recording of patient information.* Consults with members of the health care team, adjusting nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient outcomes.* Demonstrates cost-effective work habits by setting priorities and properly managing supplies and equipment.* Assists the health care provider with examinations, procedures and other processes related to direct patient care.* Participates in quality improvement activities to ensure appropriate clinical outcome.* Professional contributions, including presentations, preceptorships/mentorships, committee participation, community service, inclusion on research or professional publications or local, regional or national professional organization leadership roles.* Performs other duties as outlined in specialty-specific job responsibilities.* Graduate of an accredited nursing program.* Completion of National Specialty Certification relevant to the area where working, if applicable.* Current Missouri RN licensure in accordance with Compact Act.* Basic Life Support certification (Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements).* Advanced clinical skills (e.g., PALS, ACLS, IV Certification, Bone Marrow Biopsy).* Up to 22 days of vacation, 10 recognized holidays, and sick time.* Competitive health insurance packages with priority appointments and lower copays/coinsurance.* Take advantage of our free Metro transit U-Pass for eligible employees.* WashU provides eligible employees with a defined contribution (403(b)) Retirement Savings Plan, which combines employee contributions and university contributions starting at 7%.* WashU covers the cost of tuition for you and your family, including dependent undergraduate-level college tuition up to 100% at WashU and 40% elsewhere after seven years with us.Washington University in St. Louis' collective success is significantly attributed to the passion and outstanding efforts of our community.
