About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated Assistant General Counsel to join our North American legal team and play a key role in shaping the success of a dynamic, fast-paced business. As an Assistant General Counsel, you will provide practical, business-oriented legal advice on federal, state, provincial and local labor and employment laws affecting the Company's North American operations.

Based in Beloit, Wisconsin (hybrid preferred, remote considered), this role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact while working alongside a collaborative and forward-thinking legal team.

What will you do?

• Counsel Human Resources and business leaders on employee relations matters, including hiring, performance management, accommodations, leaves of absence, discipline, reductions in force and separations.

• Manage employment litigation, administrative charges, agency investigations, demand letters and pre-litigation disputes, including oversight of outside counsel, strategy, budgets and resolution.

• Advise on traditional labor matters, including union organizing activity, collective bargaining, labor relations strategy, grievance and arbitration matters, and interpretation of collective bargaining agreements.

• Draft, review and update employment-related agreements, policies, handbooks, templates and communications, including restrictive covenant, confidentiality, separation and settlement agreements.

• Partner with Human Resources and Compliance on internal investigations involving workplace conduct, retaliation, harassment, discrimination and other sensitive employee concerns.

What will you need to be successful?

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

• Active license to practice law and good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.

• Minimum 10 years of relevant labor and employment experience gained in-house, at a law firm, or in a combination of both. Experience with unions highly preferred.

• Self-directed and self-motivated. Excellent organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills

• Availability to travel up to 10%.

Compensation Data

The pay range for this position is $146,800 - $232,450 in Annual Salary. Kerry typically does not hire an individual at the top or near the top of the range, as we are a pay-for-performance company, and this range is set to continue to reward performance annually while in role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The specific compensation offered to a candidate within the above range may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience, internal equity, and location. In addition, this position is also eligible to earn a performance-based incentive compensation.
