CNC Operator

Job Description Overview This role involves setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC lathes to produce precision-machined plastic components. You’ll work with engineering plastics, interpret technical drawings, and ensure parts meet tight tolerances and quality standards in a safe, organized environment. Key Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC lathes to machine plastic parts per drawings and work instructions Select proper tools, feeds, and speeds for various plastics to optimize quality and efficiency Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and GD&T Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure accuracy Perform deburring, finishing, and basic machine maintenance Adjust offsets, change tools, and troubleshoot machining issues to maintain quality Document production and inspection data and report nonconformances Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow all safety procedures Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to improve processes Required Skills & Experience 2+ years of lathe experience (CNC preferred; plastic machining a plus) Ability to read blueprints and GD&T Experience with precision measuring tools Strong understanding of machining quality standards and shop safety Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Physically able to stand for long periods and lift up to ~50 lbs Preferred Qualifications Experience with tight-tolerance, high-mix plastic machining Familiarity with CNC controls (Haas experience a plus) Technical or vocational training in machining Experience in deburring/finishing and program or parameter adjustments Strong communication and teamwork skills Why This Role Join a professional manufacturing environment that values craftsmanship, safety, and continuous improvement. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Phoenix, AZ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
