About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Med/Surg Duration: 13 weeks Shift: AM Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: Trach, NIHSS, IV start, PICC lines required Must-Have: Strong Med/Surg skills Description: Requires experience with tracheostomy care, NIHSS, intravenous starts, and PICC line management. Strong medical-surgical skills are essential. Preferred experience includes peritoneal dialysis. The unit handles complicated medical cases, including complicated urinary tract infections, pneumonia, sepsis, tracheostomies, percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy tubes, peritoneal dialysis, altered mental status, and pancreatitis. Research involvement includes administering flu challenges to healthy patients and monitoring for symptoms. The position combines research duties for 14 days of the month, with the remainder focused on complex medical care.
