Position Summary

At Morningside, our Servers help turn every meal into a moment of care and connection. As a Server, you'll assist with all aspects of dining service, from serving appetizing meals to keeping the dining room and kitchen running smoothly, helping create a warm, welcoming mealtime experience for our residents.

Key Responsibilities

1. Dining Service & Resident Experience

●        Serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance, on a timely basis.

●        Serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures, including checking diet trays before distribution.

●        Set up meal trays, food carts, and the dining room as instructed, and deliver food carts and trays to designated areas.

●        Distribute and collect menus, assist the cook in preparing meals, and prepare and deliver snacks as instructed.

2. Cleaning & Sanitation

●        Assist with daily and scheduled cleaning duties, including work tables, meat blocks, refrigerators, and freezers.

●        Sweep and mop floors as directed, and keep work areas clean, dry, and free of hazards.

●        Carry soiled utensils to the wash area, wash and clean utensils, and return clean utensils to proper storage, ensuring everything is ready for the next meal.

●        Remove food trays from carts and the dining room, carry out garbage, and obtain food supplies for the next meal.

3. Team & Community Standards

●        Bring a positive, professional attitude to interactions with residents, visitors, and fellow team members.

●        Help maintain a safe working environment through the prevention of accidents and the preservation of equipment.

●        Perform all duties in adherence to Morningside Elite Management standards, policies, and procedures.

The ideal candidate is dependable, attentive, and takes pride in helping create a warm, welcoming dining experience for residents.

Education & Experience

●        High School Diploma or GED; or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills & Competencies

●        Comfortable working in a fast-paced dining and kitchen environment.

●        Strong attention to detail with portion control and diet tray accuracy.

●        Reliable and thorough with cleaning and sanitation tasks.

●        Ability to work well as part of a team, supporting cooks and fellow servers.

●        Positive, professional demeanor with residents, families, and coworkers.
