Job Summary
As a Lead Electrical Superintendent, you will play a critical role in leading electrical field execution for combined cycle and simple cycle power generation projects. In this role, you will provide hands-on leadership for direct-hire craft, subcontractors, foremen, field engineers, and discipline superintendents to ensure electrical work is planned, coordinated, and executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with project requirements. You will help drive productivity, schedule performance, quality, cost control, and field coordination across major electrical scopes, including power distribution, raceway and cable systems, grounding, terminations, electrical equipment installation, testing support, and commissioning readiness.

Key Responsibilities
Lead electrical field execution for combined cycle/simple cycle construction projects, ensuring safe, high-quality installation of assigned electrical systems and equipment. Support the Construction Manager in maintaining BV safety, quality, ethics, lessons learned and performance management programs. Lead electrical craft, general foremen/foremen, subcontractors, field engineers and discipline supervision. Coordinate power distribution, grounding, cable tray, conduit, cable pulling, terminations, electrical equipment, lighting and balance-of-plant systems. Monitor, verify and report progress against CPM schedules, milestones, turnover priorities and commodity targets. Partner with craft, subcontractors, field engineering, startup, commissioning, project controls and management to resolve drawing, schedule, quality, quantity, cost and safety issues. Track productivity, installed quantities, progress and cost performance; communicate updates to the Construction Manager/Field Project Controls Manager. Act proactively to maintain safety, quality, schedule, productivity, cost, turnover and commissioning readiness. Lead foreman, subcontractor and discipline planning meetings for daily, weekly and monthly electrical work. Develop/monitor three-week look-ahead schedules aligned with sequencing, system priorities and resources. Confirm drawings, materials, labor, tools, equipment, access, permits and work packages support scheduled work. Oversee electrical work packages and equipment installation, coordinating with civil, mechanical, piping, I&C, startup and commissioning. Identify constraints, conflicts, shortages, quality issues and productivity impacts; develop corrective actions to maintain progress. Develop, monitor and report electrical punch list completion, turnover readiness and closeout. Maintain daily logs, quantity reports, progress updates and site records supporting documentation and commercial recovery. Review craft/subcontractor timesheets, installed quantities and supplier technical service logs/timesheets. Monitor electrical subcontractors for scope, schedule, quality, safety and execution compliance. Build relationships with subcontractors, craft leadership, field engineering and stakeholders to support collaboration and execution. Support extra work authorization requests, including RFMPs and work authorizations. Assist with Contractor Information Requests and field technical inquiries. Identify back charges, out-of-scope items and commercial impacts; escalate as needed. Develop/distribute Job Hazard Analyses for major electrical installation packages and high-risk activities. Provide work direction, coaching, training, development and performance feedback to assigned team members. Apply BV standards, procedures, construction guides and lessons learned across assigned electrical work. Lead field execution with direction, coordination and accountability while recognizing management responsibilities may vary. Mentor discipline superintendents and field leaders through guidance, training recommendations and support to strengthen leadership capability and execution. Support workforce planning and succession development by identifying training, development and leadership growth opportunities for assigned supervision and craft leadership. Serve as the Construction Manager’s representative when required, providing continuity of field leadership, coordination, communication and decision-making. Support site-wide safety, quality and execution initiatives to ensure consistent implementation of project requirements, standards and lessons learned. Coordinate with discipline superintendents, subcontractors, startup, commissioning and project management teams to support objectives, critical path activities and integrated planning. Promote lessons learned, field best practices and continuous improvement across the project site.
Preferred Qualifications
Construction Management, Engineering, Electrical Technology, or related technical degree preferred; equivalent electrical field leadership experience may be considered.
Preferred Skills:
- Lead Electrical Superintendent experience on power generation, industrial, or heavy construction projects
- Combined cycle and simple cycle power plant construction experience
- Experience leading electrical installation scopes for gas turbine, steam turbine, HRSG, balance-of-plant, switchyard, power distribution, grounding, raceway, cable, terminations, lighting, heat trace, and electrical equipment systems
- Strong understanding of electrical construction sequencing, system turnover, testing support, and commissioning readiness
- Budget, cost control, productivity tracking, and quantity reporting skills
- Industrial Relations knowledge for recognizing and resolving potential labor issues
- Knowledge of union agreements and jurisdictional issues
- Knowledge of company construction guides, standards, procedures, and manuals
- Construction safety awareness and strong commitment to safe work execution
- Constructability knowledge within the electrical discipline and working knowledge of adjacent construction disciplines
- Ability to coordinate effectively with civil, mechanical, piping, I&C, startup, commissioning, subcontractor, and field engineering teams
- Conflict management, problem-solving, and risk assessment skills
- Strong communication, leadership, planning, and human relations skills
- Multi-tasking ability to prioritize, organize, schedule, and execute work in a fast-paced construction environment
- Project management, conceptual planning, and legal contract understanding, including EPC and subcontract requirements
- Experience with time reporting systems, cost code labor productivity systems, expense reporting, and administrative procedures
- Computer skills and ability to use construction management, reporting, scheduling, and productivity tracking tools
- Experience mentoring and developing field supervision, including discipline superintendents, general foremen, and foremen.
- Demonstrated ability to serve in a lead discipline role and support Construction Manager responsibilities when required.
- Ability to lead diverse craft, supervisory, and subcontractor teams while fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing project culture.
Minimum Qualifications
8+ years experience as a Superintendent or Construction Manager on equivalent projects. Valid Driver's License. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
Certifications
OSHA 10 certification.

- Work up to a 12 hour shift doing hard physical labor in varying temperature extremes and other outside conditions.
