Pediatric Dental Assistant

The Pediatric Dental Assistant supports high-quality dental care delivery for children by preparing treatment rooms, patients, instruments, and materials; passing instruments and materials; and performing procedures in full compliance with Arizona dental standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

• Assists the doctor chairside during pediatric dental procedures, including behavior guidance and patient comfort techniques for pediatric patients
• Takes x-rays
• Captures intraoral (IO) images and digital X-rays in compliance with Arizona radiation standards
• Assist in Prophylaxis cleaning of teeth
• Instructs patients on oral hygiene
• Charts cavities and teeth with doctor
• Sterilizes instruments
• Sets up/breakdown and prepares rooms for treatment/hygiene
• Charting of patient's treatment and treatment plan with doctor

Education and/or Experience: Certification from a dental college (CDA or EFDA preferred) OR three to six months of related pediatric dental experience and/or training, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Certificates or Licenses:

• Arizona X-Ray certification
• Current BLS certification
• Arizona Coronal Polish certification

Salary: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
