Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Currently seeking passionate Special Education Teachers for contract roles in elementary and high school resource room settings for the 2026–2027 academic year. Openings are available at multiple school buildings, allowing you to help shape diverse learners’ educational experiences.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education and a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate (per Michigan Department of Education requirements), OR
- Bachelor’s degree with current enrollment in a state-approved teacher certification program recognized by MDE
- Preferred: Endorsements in Learning Disabilities (SM) and/or Cognitive Impairment (SA)
- Classroom teaching experience in a similar school district is highly desirable
- Familiarity with implementing IEPs and using positive behavior support strategies
- Strong collaboration and communication skills for working with other educators, administration, and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and indirect instruction to students with disabilities in resource room settings
- Adapt teaching methods to support the development of language, motor, cognitive, sensory, and memory skills
- Deliver academic instruction using a range of techniques, such as phonics, multisensory activities, and repetition
- Modify general education curriculum to meet the needs of each learner, utilizing assistive technology
- Write and implement IEP goals; promote socially appropriate behaviors
- Conduct and plan engaging instructional activities that encourage both group and independent learning
- Collaborate with colleagues and parents to ensure student progress and compliance with education requirements
