Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Emergency Department Traveler PositionDay shift 0700-1930, and mids/night shifts 1500-0330/1900-0730. Locations include Bonney Lake, Federal Way, Parkland, South-Hill, and Lacey with varying census and bed capacities. Travelers starting 5/19/2025 – 6/9/2025 will assist in setting up department supplies and developing workflows. It is recommended to find housing between Seattle and Tacoma, Puyallup, Kent, Renton. MultiCare is only accepting medical and religious exemption requests at this time.General Information:Beds: 10, total 20 treatment spacesExperience: 2 full years of true ER experience (any trauma level); First-time traveler: YesWill be assigned a primary OCED, but the expectation when needed is to float to other OCED sites as needed and primary site may change depending on needs.Minimum night staffing varies per location usually 4 RN & 1 LPN, but can be 2 RN & 1 LPNPatient Types: Neonates – Geriatrics, 25% Peds, Walk-in traumas, all types of patients ranging from cardiac, neuro, GI, respiratory, psych, frequent drop off GSWsWill have to provide care to intubated patients will provide training for ventilator and bipap as there are no RT's onsite, RN's manage vent/bipapCovid & PPE: N95s PAPRs GogglesPatient Ratios: 1:4 Fast track 1:6 team nurse (LVP, NP)Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, NIHSS, TNCCSkills required: Strong ED experience, strong customer service, ventilator class (BiPAP) will provide during on boarding, knowledge of medication administration (mix own meds), chest tubes, central lines, strong IV skills. Will be required to do charge (facility will train if needed).Support on the Unit:LPN Ratio: (LPNS: 2 1 will assist in rooms, and fast tracks) can take low acuity assignments as well as assist with procedures and medication administration (within their scope)Charge nurse: does take partial pt assignment is free in the afternoon to float and give breaksEST/Phlebotomy: Assist draw blood, but majority is RN draw or LPNNo RT- RN's will manage VentsNo Pharm- will mix your own meds under the supervision of pharmacy via video conferenceCharting System/Equipment: EPIC Alaris PyxisFloating: All other OCEDS; Mid shift floating (will pay for travel time)Orientation: 1 hospital orientation 1 full day with OCED unit educator 8h respiratory class 1 full day on the unit Traveler Telemetry Competency Required Required to be completed and passed prior to start. SimpliFi Compliance is responsible for grading this exam.Scheduling: Weekend rotation: try to rotate every other, but not guaranteed.
