Pasta Cook

Job Summary

HiPPO is seeking a skilled and motivated Pasta Cook to join our culinary team. The Pasta Cook will play an important role in the preparation and execution of HiPPO’s pasta program, ensuring that each dish is prepared with consistency, precision, and attention to detail.

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of pasta cooking and preparation, works well in a fast-paced kitchen, and takes pride in producing high-quality food. This position requires strong organization, communication, and the ability to maintain consistent execution throughout service.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop a thorough knowledge of HiPPO’s pasta menu, including ingredients, sauces, preparations, and plating standards.
• Execute pasta dishes accurately and consistently during service while maintaining proper timing and quality.
• Prepare fresh pasta, sauces, fillings, garnishes, and other components as required.
• Maintain proper cooking techniques and timing for different pasta shapes and preparations.
• Complete daily prep and ensure the pasta station is fully stocked and organized before service.
• Follow recipes, portion standards, and established kitchen procedures.
• Maintain consistency in flavor, texture, temperature, portioning, and presentation.
• Properly label, date, rotate, and store products while minimizing waste.
• Communicate professionally with the Chef and culinary team during prep and service.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked station throughout the shift.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and kitchen safety standards.
• Assist with kitchen opening, closing, cleaning, and other duties as needed.
• Work efficiently under pressure while maintaining composure, accuracy, and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Current ServSafe Food Handlers Certification.
• Previous pasta cook, line cook, or professional kitchen experience (2-3 years preferred) .
• Good understanding of pasta preparation, cooking techniques, pan, sauces, and basic culinary fundamentals.
• Experience working with fresh pasta is preferred.
• Ability to execute multiple dishes efficiently and consistently during service.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with the culinary team.
• Professional attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn.
• Commitment to cleanliness, food safety, and maintaining high culinary standards.
• Availability to work daytime, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts as required.
