Inpatient Physical Therapist

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Inpatient Physical Therapist to provide exceptional care to patients throughout the hospital. In this acute care setting, our Physical Therapists evaluate and treat patients with a wide range of orthopedic and medical conditions to optimize mobility and function. We work closely and collaboratively with other disciplines to meet patients' diverse needs.

Essential Functions

  • Performs patient assessment and establishes a plan of care.
  • Identifies and documents goals, anticipated progress, and plans for reevaluation.
  • Discusses evaluation, goals, and treatment with patient and family.
  • Evaluates effects of treatment at various stages and adjusts treatment to achieve maximum benefit.
  • Participates in and contributes to department and interdisciplinary in-service education programs.
  • Participates in Hospital-wide quality process improvement.
  • Supervises PTAs according to organization policy and state regulations.
  • Completes billing accurately.

Qualifications

Education: Doctor of Physical Therapy preferred.

Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No

Licenses and Credentials: Physical Therapist [State License] - required

Experience: 1-2 years of work experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record systems.
  • Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
  • Teaching others how to do something.
  • Excellent problem solving, case management and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements.
