Job Title: Area HSE Coordinator Job Type: Full Time Location: Ohio Pay Type: Salary / Exempt Risk Category: Safety-Sensitive Compensation: Grade 6: $80K to $115K Additional Earnings: May include discretionary bonus Travel: Frequent Travel Required (60%+) Destinations/Regions: May Vary Benefits: Health & Wellness including Medical, Dental, Vision and HSA 401(k) Retirement Plan Match Contribution PTO & Holiday Pay Paid Travel Expenses (when applicable) Career Advancement Opportunities Position Overview: The Area Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Coordinator is responsible for supporting and advancing health, safety, and environmental (HSE) programs across multiple field service locations within an assigned region. This role is highly field-driven, requiring consistent presence at active job sites to coach technicians and site leadership, identify risks, support real-time risk mitigation, and ensure effective implementation of safety programs. The Area HSE Coordinator serves as a key partner to operations, driving safety performance through engagement, coaching, and proactive risk management while ensuring alignment with company standards and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities: 1. Field Safety Leadership & Support: Serve as the primary HSE point of contact across assigned locations or region. Maintain consistent presence in the field to support safe work execution and reinforce HSE expectations. Coach technicians and site leadership on safe work practices and hazard awareness. Promote a strong safety culture through engagement, communication, and visibility. 2. Risk Management & Compliance: Conduct job site visits, safety walkthroughs, and behavior-based safety observations (BBS). Perform and support risk assessments, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and hazard identification activities. Ensure compliance with company policies, client requirements, and applicable regulatory standards. Support coordination with vendors, contractors, and third parties for HSE-related matters. 3. Incident Management & Reporting: Facilitate incident reporting, investigation, and root cause analysis. Support development and implementation of corrective and preventive actions. Track and monitor incidents and trends to identify areas for improvement. 4. Training & Communication: Lead toolbox talks, safety stand-downs, and field-based training sessions. Share best practices and lessons learned across locations to promote consistency. Support worker engagement programs and safety initiatives. 5. Program Implementation & Continuous Improvement: Support implementation and execution of HSE programs and initiatives across assigned locations. Track and analyze HSE performance metrics. Participate in safety committees and assist in driving continuous improvement efforts. 6. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as liaison between field operations and HSE leadership. Partner with site leadership to align safety initiatives with operational needs. Support broader organizational safety goals and initiatives. Partner with internal stakeholders including Operations, HR, and Safety leadership to support incident management, training initiatives, and compliance efforts. Interface with clients as needed to support site‑specific safety requirements, incident response, and alignment with customer expectations. 8. Additional Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned to support business needs. Continuously seek opportunities for professional development, process improvement, and contribute to team‑wide learning and growth. Requirements (Education, Experience, Skills & Attributes): 3–5+ years of experience in health, safety, and environmental (HSE) roles, with strong preference for 3+ years in field-based or industrial environments. Strong field-based experience supporting active job sites. Experience supporting multiple locations or regional operations preferred. Working knowledge of OSHA standards and safety regulations. Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA 30, BCSP STS/CHST/OHST) preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence across all levels. Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks across multiple sites. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HSE management systems. Valid driver’s license required; must be able to operate a company or personal vehicle for business purposes and meet all applicable company and client screening requirements based on job duties (e.g., motor vehicle record, background check, drug testing, or other applicable screenings). Preferred Qualifications: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Science, or related field. Experience in electrical services, industrial services, or construction environments. Experience supporting safety programs in a multi-site environment. Physical Requirements: This job involves both indoor and outdoor work. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: Lift, carry and/or move up to 75 pounds repeatedly. Climb ladders, staircases, step stools, stand, walk, sit, and operate vehicles for extended periods. Bend, stoop, crawl and work in awkward positions or confined spaces for several hours. The employee may occasionally be required to: Work outdoors in varying weather conditions including intense heat/cold, muddy and wet environments. Perform precision tasks with instruments and fittings. Communicate verbally and in writing.
