Job Description

Responsible for assisting the Intake Coordinator daily with coordination of new patient scheduling. This position provides coverage in the absence of the Coordinator and assists with the completion of scheduling queues. Assists the Revenue Cycle Manager in research and resolution of denials as assigned. Conducts Financial Counseling as needed. Monitors physician grids weekly and monthly for accuracy. Assists the Revenue Cycle Manager with tasks essential to maintaining efficient daily function of the Revenue Cycle process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist Intake Coordinator daily with coordination of new patient scheduling.
• Provide coverage in the absence of the Intake Coordinator.
• Obtain and/or verify all patient demographic data in SHCIS.
• Provide new patients with education on hospital services and/or treatment.
• Advise families regarding the revenue cycle process.
• Assist with coverage for Check-In and Scheduling queues as necessary.
• Identify and contact patients who do not have active insurance prior to date of service to obtain information for HEART in accordance with Financial Counseling Policy.
• Conduct Means Test as necessary.
• Communicate unresolved issues to the Revenue Cycle Manager.
• Ensure rescheduled and return appointments are scheduled according to established department and facility guidelines.
• Respond to Patient Access scheduling emails.
• Reschedule appointments as necessary according to department guidelines.
• Assist the Revenue Cycle Manager as needed.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Less than one year of experience in scheduling, registration, and insurance verification

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate Degree in Healthcare
• Less than one year of experience with computer applications

The pay range for this position is $17.13-$25.38/hourly. Compensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
