Located in the heart of Garden City, the Hotel is a stone's throw away from Manhattan, only 15 miles by car or 45 minutes by Long Island Railroad. We currently have a career opportunity available for an experienced Dishwasher/Potwasher/Porter.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Clean and maintain equipment
• Assist in washing wares by operating the dishwashing machine
• Load and unload dishwashing machines
• Scrubbing pots
• Wash specific items by hand (e.g. wooden cutting boards, large pots and delicate china)
• Store clean dishes, glasses and equipment appropriately
• Set up workstations before meal prep begins
• Ensure there are always enough clean dishes, glasses and utensils, especially during peak hours
• Maintain cleaning supplies stock (e.g. detergents) and place orders when necessary
• Check washing machines' operation and promptly report any technical/performance issues
• Remove garbage regularly
• Sanitize the kitchen area, including the floor

Qualifications

• Work experience as a Dishwasher, Potwasher or Porter preferred
• High volume, heavy duty cleaning experience
• Hands-on experience with industrial washing machines
• Ability to follow instructions and help with various tasks, as needed
• Time management skills
• Attention to detail and sanitation rules
• Availability to work shifts during weekends, holidays and evenings
• Shifts have the ability to run into the late hours of the night.
