The Role

As our Mentoring Family Law Attorney, you will serve as a leader within the firm and a key partner to ownership in shaping the future of the family law department.

You will:

Lead the Family Law Team

• Provide legal guidance and oversight
• Ensure quality and consistency across matters
• Support strategic decision-making on complex cases
• Maintain high standards of client service

Mentor & Develop Attorneys

• Train and support associate attorneys
• Help develop litigation, courtroom, and client-management skills
• Provide coaching, feedback, and professional development

Drive Case Strategy

• Handle a sophisticated family law caseload
• Assist with high-conflict and complex matters
• Collaborate on litigation strategy
• Support trial preparation and courtroom advocacy

Help Build the Future

• Improve systems and workflows
• Contribute to hiring and attorney development
• Partner with firm leadership on growth initiatives
• Help create a high-performing, healthy team culture

Qualifications Required

• Active Washington State Bar License in good standing
• Minimum 5 years of Washington family law experience
• Significant litigation and courtroom experience
• Experience handling contested family law matters
• Strong legal writing and advocacy skills
• Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, or supervisory experience

Preferred

• 10+ years of Washington family law experience
• Prior Managing Attorney or Supervising Attorney experience
• Trial experience in complex family law matters
• Experience mentoring attorneys and legal staff
• Existing referral relationships within the Spokane legal community

Compensation

Base Salary

$150,000-$200,000

Compensation will be determined based on experience, leadership background, litigation experience, and overall qualifications.
