Security Officer - Summer 2026

Location Bend, Oregon Position Summary The Security Officer will patrol and secure Mt. Bachelor premises, protect staff, guests, property and assets, provide customer service, conduct loss prevention, and assist law enforcement in investigations. The officer performs these duties in compliance with local, state and federal guidelines and Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST). Major Responsibilities / Daily Essential Functions Represent Mt. Bachelor positively and support the company mission. Maintain confidentiality and provide excellent customer service. Serve as the first point of contact for guests and maintain a safe, secure environment. Answer guest questions and communicate via radio and phone with all departments. Identify and log unusual occurrences and events. Assist other departments as required. Job Scope Secure transportation of goods and money. Follow DPSST guidelines and Oregon laws; understand police terminology and classification of crimes/incidents. Interview suspects, take appropriate action, and report emergencies to 911. Maintain contact with revenue departments, guests, executive staff, vault, lift access, vehicle maintenance, parking, snow removal, transportation, accounting, group sales, vendors, employees, bank, etc. Job Skills / Certifications Valid driver’s license. Ability to obtain Department of Public Safety Standards and Training – Private Security Certified. Understanding of police terminology and crime classification. Accurate incident reporting, 911 handling, report writing, and court testimony. First Aid, CPR/AED preferred. Education / Related Experience High School Diploma or GED. Minimum 6 months of similar experience preferred. Physical Demands Work in a mountain environment with varying temperatures; walk on snow‑covered surfaces in low light conditions; lift up to 10 pounds; frequently bend, reach, climb, push, pull, lift over 50 pounds; stand for prolonged periods; maintain visual concentration and rapid reaction to changes; utilize hand/eye coordination. Shift Work Day, Swing, and Graveyard shifts. Additional Requirements First Aid, CPR/AED preferred. Keep confidential sensitive information. Minimum Age Requirement 21+. Current Hiring Rate $21.20/hr.
