Clinical Research Data Assistant Role in Lakewood, CO

Job Summary

As a Data Entry Clerk, you will be instrumental in upholding the accuracy and quality of clinical research data at our oncology sites. Your primary focus will be inputting, maintaining, and verifying patient and clinical information within Electronic Data Capture (EDC) platforms and clinical data systems. You will ensure all data strictly matches source documents, quickly address any inconsistencies, and guarantee that all records are comprehensive, secure, and fully compliant with GCP, HIPAA, regulatory guidelines, and internal protocols.

Position Details

• Location: Lakewood, CO (80228)

• Schedule: Monday-Friday; Normal Business Hours; Onsite 5 days a week

• Compensation: $21.00/hr-$26.00/hr ($43,680-$54,080 Annual Salary) - Dependent on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately input clinical trial data into clinical data management systems (CDMS) or case report forms (CRFs), rigorously verifying it against source documentation.

• Ensure all data entry activities adhere to Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards.

• Identify and help resolve data queries by flagging discrepancies between physical source files and digital entries.

• Safeguard Protected Health Information (PHI) to maintain strict HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.

• Collaborate with physicians, research coordinators, and clinical staff to facilitate data retrieval and corrections.

• Prepare for and support audits by ensuring all documentation is accurate, complete, and properly filed.

• Uphold data integrity across all clinical databases and registries.

• Maintain a professional, courteous demeanor in all written, verbal, and in-person interactions with vendors, clients, and colleagues.

• Execute all duties safely and responsibly, taking on additional administrative tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. An Associate's degree (especially in Health Information Management, Medical Assisting, or a related field) is highly preferred.

• Experience: 1 to 3 years of dedicated data entry experience. Prior experience working with healthcare, medical, or clinical trial data is strongly desired.

• Technical Knowledge: Hands-on experience with EHR/EMR systems or clinical trial platforms, alongside a solid grasp of clinical documentation standards and medical terminology.

• Computer Skills: Exceptional typing speed and accuracy; highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and web-based applications.

• Compliance: A thorough understanding of patient confidentiality laws and HIPAA regulations.

• Core Competencies: Highly organized with flawless attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to handle high-volume, repetitive tasks without losing focus or accuracy.

• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Work Ethic: Dependable, adaptable, and aligned with core organizational values, demonstrating a readiness to shift priorities and take on new responsibilities as needed.
