Registered Nurse

Position requires experience in the Progressive Care Unit. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience. First-time travelers are accepted. ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications are required. Locals are not accepted for this position. Floating to Med-Surg is required. Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays. Guaranteed hours are 36 hours per workweek for three 12-hour shifts. The average patient ratio is 3-4 patients per nurse. Patient age groups include adults and geriatric populations. Daily census in the unit is approximately 8 patients. Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams. Common patient diagnoses include myocardial infarctions, post-cardiac arrest, atrial fibrillation, sepsis, congestive heart failure exacerbations, hypertension emergencies, and diabetic ketoacidosis. Candidates must have availability for weekend shifts. Additional requirements include providing two supervisory references prior to employment. All candidates must comply with floating requirements and may float within the facility or to nearby affiliate hospitals.
