Pharmacy Tech IIThis is a part-time position working up to 20 hours per week. The Pharmacy Technician 2 is accountable for assisting pharmacists in the retrieval, processing, preparation and distribution of medications for patient administration. The Technician 2 functions in all aspects of drug distribution that do not require the professional judgment of a pharmacist. All assigned activities are performed under the supervision of a Pharmacist.What You Will Do:Accurate preparation of patient medications including non-sterile products and sterile products (including chemotherapy and TPN).Accurate and timely delivery of patient specific medications.Inventories, replenishes, and maintains drug stock.Orients and trains new staff.Qualifications:High School Equivalent / GED (Required) and Graduate of an accredited pharmacy technician program. (Preferred)Prior experience as a pharmacy technician in a hospital or community setting. (Preferred)Understanding of metric system and basic math concepts. (Required proficiency)Good communication skills are essential. (Required proficiency)Knowledge of personal computer, calculator, facsimile machine. (Required proficiency)Basic knowledge of pharmacy computer systems and automated dispensing cabinets.
