Job Summary

Guest Services Team Members are responsible for creating a welcoming, safe, and positive experience for all guests attending events at the Abilene Convention Center. Team members serve as a primary point of contact for guests, providing assistance with seating, directions, accessibility needs, event information, venue policies, and general inquiries.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome guests as they enter the venue with a friendly and professional demeanor.
• Scan guest tickets and verify that guests have valid tickets, credentials, or other authorized access.
• Assist guests with locating their seats, sections, entrances, restrooms, concessions, suites, and other venue amenities.
• Check tickets and credentials when guests are attempting to access restricted or designated seating areas.
• Provide accurate directions and helpful information regarding the venue, event, schedule, and available services.
• Provide assistance to guests with accessibility needs and ensure they are directed to appropriate resources and accommodations.
• Respond promptly and professionally to guest questions, complaints, concerns, comments, and requests for assistance.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude when interacting with guests, vendors, employees, performers, and event personnel.
• Accurately communicate event, venue, and operational information to guests.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to read, write, and understand English in a professional working environment.
• Friendly, outgoing, approachable, and guest-focused personality. Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Basic computer skills preferred.
• Must be available to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and varying event schedules.

• Work is performed with moderate supervision.
• Must be able to continuously walk, stand, and move throughout the venue for extended periods.
• Employees may be assigned to work indoors or outdoors, including positions exposed to varying weather conditions.
• Employees may be required to work in crowded, high-volume environments with elevated noise levels.
• Employees may be scheduled to work late evenings or early mornings.
